It’s November 11, Remembrance Day. I won’t pretend to be able to comprehend the sacrifices brave Canadian Men & Women have made to protect my freedom. But I can say that I am extremely grateful. Thank-you.
In 2004, I visited Canada’s World War II Museum in Normandy, France. Growing up in the 90’s and 00’s in Alberta, this was one of my first ‘real’ understandings of what war is. It may have just been photographs, broken down barricades and stories, but for the first time I began to see.
Here are a few scans from the film I took that day.
