About Karmen Meyer Photography
Hello, my name is Karmen Meyer. I am a wife, a friend, a daughter, a big sister and a photographer..... and, the truth is, I am also a bit long-winded so this could get a little bit lengthy!! I have grown up around cameras, it was basically inevitable that I should fall in love with photography. My mother is a great photographer who has always encouraged me to bring a camera wherever I go. And, it seemed the farther I went, the more I loved my camera. I was as far as South America when I realized that I really wanted to pursue photography as a career; not just as a way of documenting my travels. Immediately I decided to attend the Photographic Technology Program at NAIT. Since graduating, I have learned so much and have been able to branch out and use photography to express so much more. I love capturing what is real; the pureness of capturing real emotion in a photograph is stunning. It is about capturing the moment that says it all.

Today I thought I would share a couple photos and personal opinions. Which, for the many of you who know me, is a pretty common occurrence 
. So here we go; to me one the major advantages to hiring a professional photographer is a professional end product. From the actual photographs, to the prints, to the albums, your special moments will not soon be forgotten when captured by the right photographer. There is a ton of different photographers, styles and products available and it can be an overwhelming task to find the photographer that fits you, whether it be for a wedding or an individual shoot. But I encourage everyone to put a little bit of research into your future photographer, I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the quality and talent that is available. Lastly, I thought it might be nice to share with you some of the products I have been offering. So, I took some photos of the latest order to come through Karmen Meyer Photography 
And I will continue to try to take a few snaps as different product comes through to give you a better idea of what is available! ENJOY!!

Can you believe it!!! Christmas is only a month and a half away!! The malls are playing jingle bells, decorations are up on the street posts, and thank goodness there hasn’t been much snow so far. Anyone can see it, the feeling of Christmas is definitely starting to surround us.
And here is something cool that I am offering this year as a neat gift idea; gift certificates for photo sessions!!! Something definitely unique, and the recipient certainly won’t be able to shake the box haha. Speaking of unique gifts, what is the best thing you have ever received {or given} for Christmas?? Nobodies perfect and I would be lying if I said that I am doing everything I possibly can to reduce my impact on my environment; how many times have I got to the grocery store and realized I forgot my cloth bags or drove when I could of walked. But, I do make a conscious effort to try! Which is why I spend tons of time looking for more eco-friendly ways to run my business.
Some of the things you will be happy to know that are already in effect is paperless information & price lists and online proofing galleries, both of which are traditionally printed. Other things, such as the packaging you receive your products in, are made from recyclable materials; all personal notes are written on paper bought through a Fair Trade Company {organized social movement and market-based approach that aims to help producers in developing countries obtain better trading conditions and promote sustainability}. And the list goes on. The point is that a lot of effort is put into delivering a product that is both excellent quality and has a minimum impact on the world we depend on.
